I was a young child when my cousin Billy was killed. Although I never had the chance to know him I am proud of his dedication and sacrifice. God Bless you Billy!

Billy was actually born in Tollesboro, KY. We were teenagers when we lived in Stout, OH, when he was drafted. We only lived there for 2 years. I am proud of his service, but I am angry that my brother had to die. He was killed by friendly fire on June 9th, 1969. I am happy that his memory has not been forgotten. I salute you, my dear brother.

There is and always will be such an empty place in my heart for you. You were my big brother and protector; giving your life to protect others, and leaving us much too soon. Mother kept your medals next to her chair until she passed to join you.
