The family was told that all 34 men in JD's group were killed and there were no survivors. I found out (on line) that was all untrue. Only 4 men including JD were killed and I have talked to the guys who were there with JD when he was killed and they told me the truth about how he died. They knew who I was when they read my messages on the Vet boards and these guys are always looking for other Marines from 2/4 Marines, the "Magnificent Bastards" --Hotel Company, 2/4 Marines.
