28 Dec 2006 My name is Joe Rios and I was a member of this Bravo Company 4/23rd group on June 6, 1969. The events of June 6 were forever engraved in my mind. Never has a day passed that I do not think about this fateful day and of these my fallen brothers. Although through the years the pain has eased, the memories continue and I will never forget the bravery they showed. Landwehr, Clinton, MI SSG John D. Inguillo, Watsonville, CA SGT Larry G. Gosch, Lineville, IA SGT Bruce C. Maynard, Coudersport, PA SP4 Richard E. Cyran, Clifton, NJ CPL Robert C. Essmann, Fond Du Lac, WI CPL Carl D. Lynch, New York, NY CPL Dennis J. Manson, Belcourt, ND CPL John D. Rhodes, Louisville, TN CPL Richard P. Valadez, Los Angeles, CA SSgt Inguillo was a "shake-and-bake" sergeant; after basic and advanced infantry training, he was selected to attend the Non-Commissioned Officer Course at Harmony Church, Fort Benning, Georgia. He was graduated with 168 others in Class 41-68, 76th Company, on 24 September 1968, earning his stripes as an E-5 Sergeant (MOS 11B40, Light Weapon Infantryman). After reporting to Bravo 4/23 he earned another stripe, gaining promotion to Staff Sergeant (E-6).
