Richard was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off of his back. He was always helpful. He believed what he was doing was right. He did a lot of wonderful things in Vietnam, helping mountain people and trying to understand their way of life. Many of the Vietnamese people were always very nice to him. He always said that there was no way the Vietnamese people could live the way the American people live. He said when the war was over, the Vietnamese people would go back to living off the land like they always had. He was well respected and had a lot of friends. Even today he is missed. He was my brother and to this day I miss him very much.
A memorial from his brother, |
Hello and Thank You for visiting my uncle's page. I never got to know my uncle - I was born 2 weeks prior to his death in Pleiku. I've heard many good things about him ... that he was outgoing and always offering a hand to help anyone, even total strangers. I heard that he was a joker, playing harmless jokes on friends and family. I believe I'm a lot like my Uncle Richard was and am very proud of what he did for all of America.
Thank You. Sincerely, |
